Benuz is a pioneer of Mexican graffiti. He started in 1994 at the same time as the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) uprising. He belonged to the renowned crews of Mexico City, such as the SF and the DNC, always using a particular style in his letters and characters. In 2009, Benuz began experimenting with calligraphy and started using calligraphic strokes to create textures and depth to form symbols and figures that make up his signature style, which has since inspired artists worldwide.
