PALE ALES
A Pale Ale is for ales what a Pilsner is for Lager beers! Pale Ales are – as the name suggests – pale top-fermented beers. The color of these beers ranges from a rather light yellow to dark amber. Pale Ales have a hoppy, fruity character and a very moderate and pleasant bitterness. American Pale Ales are, as compared to English Pale Ales, mostly a bit more fruity. Pale Ales started their success story only with the industrial revolution and replaced the then rather popular brown ales. Technological progress enabled the craft to kiln-dry malt in a uniform way.
