For several months, we gave our Chocolate Bock a special home: it was left to mature in barrels that had previously held STORK CLUB Rye Whiskey—produced by the STORK CLUB distillery in the Spreewald region—for several years.

This dark, chestnut-colored specialty beer is crowned by a beautifully fine-pored head of foam. Its aroma is reminiscent of a hazelnut-nougat spread, though not quite as sweet, with notes of chocolate, hazelnut, coffee liqueur, and dark cocoa. The first sip glides across the palate with a creamy, velvety texture, enchanting the senses with dark malt notes and the exquisite character imparted by the barrel. Hints of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and a touch of walnut caress the palate, complemented by fruity undertones reminiscent of plum and barberry.
